As a graduating senior this year at Loyola, I needed to fulfill one more religion class in my schedule to graduate. Looking through all of the course offering in religion, I decided that this course would be not only interesting, but also practical for my future knowledge about the bible.  I am not Catholic like many of the other students here at Loyola, but I am more of a non denominational christian.  I grew up attending church on Sundays and occasionally attended some type of church retreat or church function. I feel my knowledge about the bible is pretty fare, and I think that taking a course like this will only increase that knowledge and even faith with God.

I have heard quite a bit about the gospels of the bible and I feel these are a great way to model your life.  They provide great stories and examples of how people should act in certain situations and how people should be treated.  I want to learn more about these gospels and continue gaining knowledge about the New Testament.  Taking this course will allow me to ask questions and bring up controversial issues that i may not fully understand.  It will give me the opportunity to not only discuss it with other students, but with the professor as well.  I have not completely read the New Testament or even all of the gospels, but I do feel that this is very important and that everyone who believes in God should be somewhat knowledgeable about these gospels and about the bible.  From all of the millions of books out there in stores and that are published, it would be safe to say that the bible is one of the books I should read before I die.  A good start to reading the bible begins with the New Testament and later getting to the Old Testament.  These are some of the reasons why I decided to take this course.
